PSN Company possesses all the necessary production equipment for manufacturing the inner and outer rings of various bearings, from raw steel to the final product. Let's take a closer look at these processes:
Raw Steel Procurement:
The production process begins with acquiring raw steel. Six-meter-long steel bars are obtained, which are then cut into smaller pieces of a specific length called "billets." These billets are prepared for the forging process.
Forging Operations:
Forging, also known as industrial blacksmithing, is generally divided into two categories: hot forging and cold forging. At PSN Company, hot forging is used to produce the inner and outer rings of bearings. The steel billets undergo several high-temperature pressing stages, taking on the initial shape of the bearing
Machining Process:
The design and execution of machining and grinding stages for bearings require extensive knowledge, experience, and expertise, carried out by Iranian specialists at PSN. It's important to note that bearings are considered precise industrial parts with a high production complexity compared to many other industrial parts. The parts that have taken the initial forged shape are machined at this stage to get closer to the final form. The machining accuracy at this stage is within the range of 0.01 millimeters.
Heat Treatment Process:
One of the most crucial processes performed on the inner and outer rings of bearings is heat treatment. Without this process, the bearing cannot achieve the desired lifespan and will soon malfunction. The heat treatment of PSN Company's productions is fully localized and carried out within the company. The machined parts are sent to this stage, and the ball raceways (where the balls roll) are sufficiently hardened to withstand wear for a long lifespan (millions of bearing rotations).
Bearing Washing:
Contaminants on parts are unacceptable during the bearing production stages, as they affect product performance. To prevent this issue, bearings are assembled in a clean room environment, and the inner and outer rings undergo several washing stages, with ultrasonic cleaning being the most important.
Grinding Process:
Grinding is generally considered a method for producing high-precision products. The accuracy of the grinding process is within the micrometer range (0.001 millimeters). Grinding the circular parts of the bearing rings and their specific machined surfaces requires specialized machinery, equipment, and tools that PSN Company has brought together for its production. The parts that were machined, heat-treated, and washed enter the grinding stage and achieve the desired precision in fully automated grinding lines without manual intervention.
In-Process Measurement:
As a pioneer in bearing production in Iran, PSN Company has been able to design and manufacture geometric and dimensional control tools and gauges to meet the bearing industry's needs and comply with well-known global roll bearing manufacturers. These tools are used online and on the factory floor, especially in the machining and grinding stages, to fully meet production line requirements. Key features of these tools include high accuracy, the use of high-quality materials, and advanced production methods, ensuring durability, longevity, and guaranteed measurement precision and accuracy in mass production.
Bearing Assembly Process:
Assembling bearing parts is a highly specialized process where the produced parts must be assembled with micron-level precision. During assembly, critical parameters such as noise and clearance are measured. These processes are carried out fully automatically at PSN. For a set of ground inner and outer rings, the appropriate size balls are chosen in the assembly line, a process known as matching. Then, other bearing components such as the cage, grease, seal, etc., are automatically added to the matched set, resulting in the final product.
